Tenth annual summer institute on early childhood development: Putting families first in early childhood education
Description:
The 10th Annual Summer Institute on Early Child Development shifts the lens away from a deficit model of parenting to one that recognizes the strengths that parents bring to the experiences of their young children. In a policy context that will guide integration of key parenting support programs under the Ministry of Education's Early Learning Division, this year's Summer Institute explores lessons that parents as experts can share to inform the design of an effective early learning and family support system.

All proceeds help People for Education protect the arts, ESL, libraries, and special education in Ontario public schools.
Telling Tales Out of School, People for Education's Annual Gala Benefit is both a celebration of public education and a fundraiser for People for Education. Over the years, Telling Tales has attracted many of Toronto's political, community, and business leaders as audience members, as well as an amazing roster of Canadian authors, actors and musicians.
Every dollar raised at Telling Tales Out of School helps People for Education conduct and publicize its research, provide support to parents and school communities, and work to support all aspects of a strong education system including things like the arts in schools, and special education and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.
