Excerpts from release:
After months of consultation with the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector, the results from the You Bet We Still Care! workforce survey are in. Program staff and directors working in centre-based, full-day, licensed childcare programs for children aged 0-6 were surveyed between July and Sept 2012, on a range of human resource (HR) topics.
Two key outputs have been developed, including:
A Highlights Report which contains key findings from the survey including up-to-date profiles of program staff, directors and employers and information on HR issues such as wages and benefits, recruitment and retention, job satisfaction and more.
A PDF PowerPoint presentation (with speaking notes) containing an overview of selected survey findings including characteristics of child care centres and staff, recruitment and retention, job satisfaction and more is currently available, and a read-only version will be available soon on the CCHRSC website.
In light of the dissolution of the CCHRSC and limited capacity to share the findings from this important study, you are encouraged to use these two key outputs to share the findings from the project with your networks and colleagues working in child care.
Thank-you to everyone who took the time to complete the You Bet We Still Care! survey! Your contribution helped to raise the profile of the ECEC workforce. It also provides important data that can be used to improve HR practices, while providing the sector with information that can be used for years to come. Thank you!!
