Childcare Resource and Research Unit (CRRU) is hiring two social research assistants to work on projects related to early childhood education and care (ECEC) and progressive social policy. Activities may include:
- Maintaining the website database;
- Analyzing, synthesizing, and reporting on news, research, and policy;
- Developing communication materials including the weekly newsletter and social media content; and
- Supporting specific research, advocacy, and policy projects.
CRRU is seeking applicants with ECEC knowledge, experience in the sector, strong writing skills, a feminist lens, and an interest in advocating for the equitable implementation of the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system. Policy analysis and qualitative and/or quantitative research skills are desirable.
Position overview
- Remuneration of $26/hour
- 35 hours/week for 8 weeks
- Flexible start date as early as May 11 and ending by August 28
- Seasonal employment with the possibility of extension
- A personal laptop computer is required
- CRRU offices are located on the third floor, accessible only by stairs
- In person work Monday to Thursday at 32 Heath St. W., Toronto
- Remote work Fridays
To be eligible, you must be between 15 and 30 years old on the start date, have a valid Social Insurance Number, and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status. International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible.
