Nine caring and compassionate Albertans were honoured at Government House recently for their commitment to quality child care and child development.

Children’s Services Minister Danielle Larivee presented the 2018 Minister’s Award of Excellence in Child Development to celebrate the outstanding efforts of Alberta child development professionals and encouraged them to continue their commitment to excellence in their field.

Recipients demonstrated excellence in innovative programming, collaborative partnerships, family and parent support, community building and continuous improvement.

This year’s recipients include the Muslim Community of Edmonton Child Care Program, the Opokaa’sin Child Care Centre and Viola Barabas from Primrose Place Family Centre.
