EXCERPTED

A patchwork approach won’t work. We need a plan from the Ford government for ALL child care providers to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, including community-based programs and home child care. It’s not fair to leave the difficult decision to close up to individual centres and their volunteer boards.

We also need to ensure that ECEs, parents and child care workers are properly compensated, paid sick days are restored and child care provisions are made so that our frontline healthcare workers can continue to do their jobs.
