EXCERPTS

Effective today, regulated child care providers in the province who are part of the provincial Operating Grant Program will be required to lower the rates charged to parents to $25 dollars a day.

The expansion of the provincial Operating Grant Program was announced in the budget in September.

At the time $3-million was set aside for the program – earmarked for the first three months of the year.

It’s anticipated more funding will be announced in the provincial budget in the spring.
