Changes are coming to the province’s Child Care Subsidy, as the $15-dollar-a-day child care program comes into place.

The changes will eliminate parental contributions for all eligible Child Care Subsidy clients and free child care for families using a child care service participating in the Operating Grant Program.

As of January 1, 2022, the net income threshold will increase from $35,000 for full subsidy to a range from $41,000 to $77,000, based on the number of children attending a regulated service.

The change is coming a year ahead of schedule, with the elimination of parental contributions originally set for 2023.
