EXCERPTS

New Brunswick's New Democratic Party leader says if elected, her party would create a full, publicly-funded child care system.

Allison Brewer says access to quality, affordable child care can no longer be seen as a frill or a perk in New Brunswick.

…

Brewer says an NDP government would create 1,000 more subsidized child care spaces in non-profit centres within their first mandate.

She says they would also support accreditation, staff training, improved salaries, and direct operating support to not-for-profit community child care centres that meet or exceed certain standards.
