EXCERPTS

The federal government has launched a website to counter criticism of its national child-care policies and explain its plan.

Human Resources Minister Diane Finley says parents can get all their answers at www.universalchildcare.ca [2].

Finley says anyone who's signed up for the child tax benefit will receive the government's new $1,200-a-year tax rebate for every child under six.

Parents can ensure they are registered for the benefit by calling 1-800-387-1193.
