DESCRIPTION

Two Ottawa child care providers share how their programs and staff are faring to re-open to families. Janet LeBlanc, director of the Bettye Hyde Cooperative Early Learning Centre, expresses fear and unreadiness for a safe reopening. On the other hand, Kim Hiscott, executive director of Andrew Fleck Children’s Services, shared some of their well-thought out plans for staff retention, family engagement, and health protocol implementation based upon their experience of providing emergency child care. Both programs indicate the need for extra time to comply with additional health measures from the provincial guidelines released on June 9, 2020.
