According to a report released by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, Alberta is slated to miss its target of creating affordable and accessible childcare spaces in the province by its initial deadline of March 31st.

The report states that all provinces entered into a signed agreement with the federal government with a commitment to create affordable childcare spaces across the country in 2022.

Under the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Childcare program, provinces promised to bring childcare fees down to $10 per day, with a focus on non-profit centres.
