EXCERPTS

Daycare workers and parents of young children took part in another protest against the Quebec government's plan to cut funding to publicly-subsidized childcare centres.

Hundreds gathered at Jarry Park and marched around the Parc Extension neighbourhood.

Opponents of the government's plan worry the cuts will affect, among other issues, specialized services in daycares, which help students who have learning difficulties or need extra help with language.

Quebec plans to cut funding for daycares by $120 million a year – taking full effect in 2018.
