Some people in Lake Louise are scrambling to find child care options with summer right around the corner.
Rachelle Kehler and her husband have been using a babysitter for their four-year-old girl, but the sitter is going back to work in two weeks, leaving the Kehler family with no one to care for their child.
Kehler says the fact that Lake Louise has no day care in the summer months is stressful for many parents.
The winter months are much easier in Lake Louise, because residents use the day care at the ski hill. Kehler and her employer are lobbying the ski hill to keep the day care open in the summer too.
She says the ski hill isn't sure it will have enough business to do that.
As well, Kehler says Parks Canada has been lukewarm to the idea of granting a license for the day care to operate in the summer months.
