EXCERPTS

I think all the new money for additional child care places, subsidies to lower income families, etc., is wonderful.

But it's too little too late. We need more money for more kinds of child care, including care of children beyond the age of five.

My child entered kindergarten this year and I can't tell you how frustrating it is that the program is just three hours a day, four days a week. This system does not accommodate working parents in any way, shape or form.

Summers off and breaks here, there and everywhere throughout the year is a major strain on working people.

There need to be enough child care places to meet demand before and after school, either on school premises on nearby, with pick-up and drop-off provided -- at every public school in B.C.

Honestly, now that I'm in the system, I can't believe working parents haven't been marching in streets over this.
