EXCERPTS

The provincial government will fund 2,350 child-care spaces this year, the first year of its five-year plan that targets funding for 6,500 spaces in Manitoba.

The government announced the plan, called Family Choices, back in April.

Today, it announced that 2,350 of those spaces will come on board this year.

The government also said it will fund 100 nursery school spaces this year. The five-year plan calls for 1,300 nursery school spaces.
