In Regina, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland announces that the federal government has reached an agreement with Saskatchewan aimed at providing $10-a-day child care in the province. The federal government will provide close to $1.1 billion over five years to help fund Saskatchewan’s early learning and child care system and to create 28,000 new child care spaces. Also taking part in the event are Ahmed Hussen, the federal minister of families, children, and social development, Dustin Duncan, Saskatchewan’s minister of education, and Derek Meyers, the MLA for Regina Walsh Acres.
