EXCERPTS

At a news conference in Langley, British Columbia ministers Jennifer Whiteside (education) and Katrina Chen (child care) announce an expansion of B.C.’s seamless childcare pilot program. The program provides before- and after-school care for school-aged children in their own schools, and will be implemented in an additional 21 schools over the next year to bring the total number of schools running the program to 25. The ministers are joined by Rod Ross, chair of the Langley School Board, and Lisa Lainchbury, district principal of early learning and safe schools with the Langley School District.
