While a majority of Canadians are ambivalent toward Budget 2021, they are aware it features the Liberal government’s national child care plan, according to new research from Abacus Data.

The survey, conducted between April 20 and April 25, found that 56 percent of Canadians consider the budget “acceptable given the circumstances,” though just 34 percent were “quite” or “somewhat” familiar with Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s plan.

When asked to name one proposal they could recall about the document, 50 percent named child care.
