Beamsville Early Learning and Child Care Centre is slated to grow from its current 93 square metres in two classrooms to about 930 square metres over two floors in what was Wing 2 at the former Beamsville District Secondary School building.
The expansion will enable the centre on Central Avenue to boost the number of children it looks after to 113 from 39.

Satinder Klair, director of Niagara Region children’s services, said the Beamsville centre’s expansion is part of a larger initiative to provide more childcare spaces in the region.
“The expansion of the Beamsville Early Learning and Child Care Centre is part of the Region’s plan under the Canada-Wide Early Learning Child Care System, which is supported through federal and provincial funding,” Klair said.
“Niagara Region and the Ministry of Education will be making an announcement regarding this childcare centre investment in the near future and will be inviting media to share the information at that time.”
The centre has been renting the school wing from the Town of Lincoln, which acquired the property in June 2024 from District School Board of Niagara after it deemed the site surplus to its needs.
