Report from CORRA details the current cost of child care versus the cost of high quality child care. In Colorado 145,000 young children age 0-5 attend early childhood education programs each year.

The need for high quality education for children ages 0-5 has been scientifically established:

- Research has established a direct, positive correlation between quality early childhood education and performance in school;

- Investment in the early years outperforms other public policy options in terms of savings on remedial programs and is an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty for children from poor families.
