Excerpts from the article:

In order to ensure that Ontario's families have the capacity to succeed, we need to develop policy and deliver programs that:

- consider the well-being of children within the context of the well-being of the entire family;

- ensure the existence of adequate income, housing and system supports like child care and community services;

-rebuild the capacity of community institutions to provide support and services to families;

- provide multi-service programming that helps parents and families build skills, access resources and develop strong and well funded networks.

Our children deserve every opportunity they can get to reach their highest potential and the families they live in are their first and most important resource. By providing families with the support they need to live and grow and by empowering our community institutions to provide the right kind of programs, we enable parents and thereby ensure that children have the support they need to succeed.
