Description: The speech was delivered at a Canadian Feminist Alliance for International Action (FAFIA) symposium by Jody Dallaire in December 2007. In the speech, the importance for Canada to use its federal spending power to provide quality child care for families and the child care advocacy community's commitment to address child care concerns are addressed. "The child care advocacy community's commitment to addressing these [child care] concerns is longstanding. All of us must play a crucial part in ensuring that the federal government assumes its leadership role and that there is accountability for the government funds invested. Together, we need to hold our federal, provincial and territorial governments to account for their stated and ongoing commitment to improving access to quality, affordable child care programs".
