Overview

In 2012 researchers at the public health department in Québec and a researcher from UQAM, in collaboration with Institut de la statistique du Québec, launched the Montréal Survey on the Preschool Experiences of Children in Kindergarten (MSPECK), a complementary survey of parents of a sample of Montréal children assessed as part of the 2006 Québec Survey of Child Development in Kindergarten (QSCDK). The MSPECK documented serveral dimensions of early childhood experiences, including children's health, family environment, quality and safety of home neighbourhood, families' living conditions, and children's preschool educational pathways.

The full article published on this survey is in the Canadian Journal of Public Health while two complementary documents were recently published by Direction régionale de santé publique du CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal. These complementary documents build on the results found in the MSPECK.
