Introduction
In 2015, the Ministry of Education completed its second online survey of the licensed child care sector. This report provides a provincial summary of the survey results, along with regional profiles (all centres and agencies) and Francophone regional profiles (all French-language centres).
The response rate was very high. More than 4,500 child care centres and home child care agencies participated (90 per cent completion rate)
The first survey, in 2012, provided valuable information which informed important child care and early years policies and programs. As the child care landscape continues to evolve, the 2015 data will allow the ministry make evidence-based decisions about policies and programs. It also helps the ministry work together with its early years partners to achieve strong outcomes for children and families.
