CANADA-PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND CANADA-WIDE EARLY LEARNING AND CHILD CARE AGREEMENT

BETWEEN: HER MAJISTY THE QUEEN IN RIGHT OF CANCADA (hereinafter referred to as "Candada" or "Government of Canada") as represented by the Minister of Enployment and Social Development Canada ("Canada") and as represented by the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development )hjerein reffered to as "the federal Minister")

THE GOVERNMENT OF PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND (hereinafter referred to as "Prince Eduward Island" or "Government of Prince Edward Island") as represented by the Minister of Education and Lifelong Learning (herein referred to as "the provincial Minister")

PREAMBLE

WHEREAS, Canada and Prince Edward Island agreed to a Multi;lateral Early Learning and Child Care Framework on June 12, 2017 which articulated their shared visision for early learning and child care and described their approach to acheive this vision, hereto attached as Annex 2;

WHEREAS. Canada and Prince Edward Island will work together to build a community-bassed system of quality, regualted, early learning and child care, aiming for all families to ahve access to high-quality, affordable, flexible and inclusive ELCC no matter where they live or work in the province.
