About this paper

This document, which provides a summary of selected elements of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care initiative (CWELCC) introduced in 2021, is a supplementary paper to Early childhood education and care in Canada 2021, which will be published early in 2023. As such, its support as part of a project funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) is gratefully acknowledged. The paper was a collaborative effort by the Childcare Resource and Research Unit “team”—Patrícia Borges Nogueira, Martha Friendly, Ngoc Tho (Tegan) Nguyen and Lin Velasco.
