REALITY CHECK - It’s time for child care for all $10 a Day Child Care Plan or Tax Credit?

The Liberals and NDP have promised to implement a Canada-wide system of $10 a day child care, expand availability
and fund fair compensation for early childhood educators. The Greens have also pledged support for universal child care.
The 2021 federal budget provides $30 billion over five years (and a minimum of $9.2 billion annually after 2025–26) to
build a system of child care. Conservatives will cancel the budget allocation and introduce a refundable child care tax credit.
