Abstract

This colloquium presents 10 propositions, the product of reflecting on many years in the early childhood field, that are offered as one possible agenda for a democratic politics of early childhood education (ECE). They start by asserting that ECE is first and foremost a political and ethical practice and end by insisting on the urgency of transformative change and the imperative of helping the new to be born.
