City of Yellowknife approves YWCA daycare proposal

The City of Yellowknife has approved a development permit for a new daycare facility proposed by the YWCA.

Now, the YWCA needs to secure funding so construction can begin.

The organization has asked the territory's Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) to help offset the building cost.

If funding comes through, the daycare will have spots available for 56 children. It will be built out of modular units the YWCA secured from ECE, which were used as makeshift classrooms while École Įtłʼǫ̀ was being built.
