Staffed family child care networks deliver a combination of services for family child care (FCC) educators, with specialized staff whose primary responsibility is working with participating FCC educators. Staffed FCC networks offer FCC educators a variety of quality improvement services and supports, including technical assistance, training, peer support delivered by paid staff, and access to shared services. States often form staffed FCC networks to help educators navigate state child care licensing, subsidy systems, quality rating and improvement systems (QRIS), and/or Head Start/Early Head Start regulations.  

A handful of research studies going back to the early 2000s outline the benefits of staffed FCC networks. In this newsletter, we describe three studies that have examined the associations between staffed FCC network participation, provider experiences, and child care quality.
